Stagg (formerly Stagg Jr until 2022) is Buffalo Trace’s annual batch cask-strength expression — the same uncut, unfiltered barrel-strength philosophy as the BTAC George T. Stagg, in broader batches at greater accessibility. Each batch is a unique barrel selection at its natural proof; Batch 24A opened the 2024 cycle at 127.6 proof, and was reviewed as a rich, fruit-forward, full-bodied release.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Lush ripe cherry and raspberry lead, with cigar box and old leather for contrast, a touch of barrel-char smoke, cocoa, and an underlying dark-grape richness.
• Palate: Concentrated and full, with plum and dark fruit, charred and tannic oak, and peppery spice playing against burnt caramel.
• Finish: Dense and lingering, with a rich, velvety trace and a warming proof-driven close.
